A neighbor dispute in the Red Bank area of Lexington County, South Carolina, turned deadly on the evening of April 2, 2014. Forty-two-year-old Bobby Lee Christofoli was shot and killed after a heated argument with a neighbor; his body was found lying on Cheryse Drive, a rural dirt road, and an autopsy later confirmed a gunshot to the heart and death from blood loss within minutes.
Witnesses identified the neighbor, 52-year-old Billy John Geisendorff, as the shooter. Deputies arriving about 9 p.m. found Christofoli in the roadway and located Geisendorff approximately an hour later hiding in the crawl space of a nearby home; officers recovered a .22-caliber revolver, a knife, a flashlight, and a case of beer at that time.
What details about that night, or about Bobby’s life in the neighborhood, might help clarify how the argument escalated to gunfire?
