Taj Lewis Garvin, 25, was found dead in his Honda Accord on Church Road in Hardeeville, South Carolina, on the evening of Sunday, March 2, 2014. Deputies from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly before 8 p.m. after reports of gunfire and discovered Garvin inside the vehicle, which had multiple bullet holes. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators identified 22-year-old Travis Wiggins as the person allegedly responsible for the shooting and a warrant was issued charging him with murder. SLED officers pursued Wiggins into Bluffton, where he initially evaded capture but was later taken into custody in Bluffton’s University Park community and held at the Jasper County Detention Center without bond. While searching a Hardeeville hotel for Wiggins, officers arrested two acquaintances, Marion Roshawn Loury and Demetrius Marquist Hugue, on unrelated drug and firearm charges.
Does anyone have information about Garvin, his movements on March 2, 2014, or the events leading up to the shooting?
