Sierra Ann Landry was 18 when she was shot to death on the night of December 30, 2013, in Lancaster, South Carolina. Police found her body in the yard of a residence on John Everall Road with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Investigators identified her 18-year-old ex-boyfriend, Tanner Crolley, as the suspect after the pair, described by family as having a year-and-a-half on-again, off-again relationship marked by control and abuse, argued outside a friend’s house. Crolley fled on foot but was caught a few hours later and charged with murder.
Sierra’s family said she had broken up with Crolley in the days before the shooting and that he had been harassing her with persistent calls and threatening messages. Her death led her family to push for Sierra’s Law, proposed legislation aimed at providing greater protection for minors in abusive dating relationships.
If anyone knew Sierra, her circle, or has information about the events that night, please share what you know.
