Tyrone Dinkins, 27, known as Good Buddy, was found shot to death outside his Cadillac in Bishopville, South Carolina, on the night of November 17, 2004. He suffered eight gunshot wounds to his head and body. Another man, 54-year-old Joseph Bud Reames, was found dead inside the same vehicle, victims of the same attack. Investigators believed robbery was the motive.
Authorities focused on three men from Bishopville: Sharod Frazier, Lequint Johnson, and Sammy Baker. Cell phone records showed Baker placed a call to Dinkins shortly before the killings; that call helped lead detectives to arrest all three men while they were already in custody on unrelated charges. In October 2007 a Lee County jury convicted Frazier and Johnson. Each received two consecutive life sentences plus 30 years for possession of a weapon during a violent crime and five years for armed robbery; Frazier was given an additional five-year sentence for conspiracy. Baker testified against Frazier and Johnson.
Did anyone in Bishopville at the time have information about Dinkins’s movements that night or recall who answered calls to his phone?
