A single gunshot in the early morning of December 7, 2022, left 23-year-old Azayn Antrobus dead in a parking lot on Queensbridge Court at the Dulaney Springs complex in Cockeysville, Maryland. Residents described the shooting as out of character for the neighborhood. Police located and arrested 23-year-old Timothy Brice of Woodstock about an hour after Antrobus was found; a 9mm handgun was recovered at the scene.
Authorities charged Brice with first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence. Police say the three had been at a woman’s Cockeysville apartment earlier that night and an argument erupted as the men were leaving; investigators report Brice allegedly shot Antrobus during that confrontation. Brice’s attorney later argued he acted in self-defense, claiming Antrobus was reaching for Brice’s legally owned weapon. A judge denied bail, finding Brice a risk to public safety.
Does anyone have information about the confrontation that led up to the shooting or who was present at the apartment that night?
