A welfare check just after 5:30 a.m. on April 3, 2022, in Suitland, Maryland, produced a homicide investigation. Thirty-year-old Demarcus Terrell Butler was found inside an SUV in the 4800 block of Suitland Road with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later died of his injuries.

Prince George’s County Police opened an investigation and announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
