On the morning of October 30, 2021, 25-year-old Romeo Franklin of District Heights, Maryland, was found on a sidewalk in the 3800 block of 28th Avenue in Temple Hills after a shooting at about 4:30 a.m. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the shooting was not random. Police identified 30-year-old Rudolph Powell III of Washington, D.C., as the suspect and concluded the fatal encounter grew out of a dispute between Powell and Franklin, who were known to each other. Powell was arrested in Washington, D.C., and charged with first- and second-degree murder, assault and related offenses; he was awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County to face those charges.

Are there details about their relationship or the events that night that anyone in the area can help clarify?
