Brian Robinette, 58, and his wife Kelly Sue Robinette, 57, were found shot to death in their Ellicott City home on September 30, 2021. The investigation quickly focused on Brian’s brother, Jeffrey Allen Burnham, who had reportedly made alarming statements about confronting his pharmacist brother and expressing beliefs that Brian was involved in poisoning people with the COVID shot.
Authorities say Burnham is believed to have killed 83-year-old Rebecca Reynolds in Cumberland on September 29, 2021, taken her car, then driven to Ellicott City and fatally shot Brian and Kelly before fleeing in Brian’s red Corvette. Burnham was arrested on October 1, 2021, in West Virginia with the stolen Corvette and a gun in the vehicle. He was extradited to Maryland and charged in the three deaths.
Court proceedings described serious questions about Burnham’s mental state. In March 2022 a judge found him incompetent to stand trial; by March 2023 he had pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Brian and Kelly and was found not criminally responsible for those killings, resulting in indefinite confinement in a state psychiatric facility. If anyone knew the Robinettes or has information about the events leading up to September 29–30, please share what is known.
