Deras Washington, 21, was found dead inside a vehicle that had driven up onto a curb at the Brookside Common Apartment Complex in Owings Mills, Maryland. On July 22, 2021 he had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the right side of his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined he had been targeted after arranging to meet two individuals at the complex to sell marijuana. Those individuals were identified as brothers Kyree Gregory, 21, and Malik Gregory, 19. Evidence indicated a struggle over Washington’s property before the fatal shot, and prosecutors described the event as a robbery that resulted in his killing.

The Gregory brothers were arrested and charged in connection with Washington’s murder. A jury found both guilty of first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous and deadly weapon, and using a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence; both received life sentences for murder plus an additional 20 years for the firearm conviction.

If anyone knew Deras, was at Brookside Common on July 22, 2021, or has information about the meeting that led to his death, please share what can help the record.
