On the night of February 19, 2021, a burst of gunfire at East Capitol Street and Yacht Place in Capitol Heights, Maryland, left two young men dead and a third wounded. First responders, who were initially called about a vehicle collision around 8:50 p.m., found a stopped car with two occupants who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The deceased were identified as 19-year-old Anthony Bernard Hunt and 23-year-old Octavaughn Dickerson, both of Washington D.C. A third male victim was found outside the vehicle with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit led the investigation and announced within a week that they had identified all individuals involved, though no names of potential suspects were released. Detectives said they did not believe the shooting was random and were consulting the State’s Attorney’s Office about possible charges. No public announcements of arrests or charges have been made and the motive has not been disclosed.
If anyone knew Anthony or Octavaughn, or saw activity near East Capitol Street and Yacht Place that night, what information can be shared with investigators?
