Tyshun Gary Jaheim Williams was 19 and a Washington, D.C. resident when he was fatally shot in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide by gunshot. Investigators believe the killing occurred late on the evening of Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
Williams’s body was found the next afternoon, Thursday, February 4, at about 3:19 p.m., by a person walking behind a business in the 15700 block of Shady Grove Road. Montgomery County Police and Fire and Rescue personnel responded and found him deceased with trauma to his upper body; his body was taken to Baltimore for autopsy.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Division opened a homicide investigation and worked leads through the spring and early summer. By July 2021 the department said all available leads had been exhausted and asked the public for help; Crime Solvers of Montgomery County offered up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been publicly identified.
Did anyone in the Gaithersburg area see or hear anything on the night of February 3, 2021 that could help investigators?
