Jaemari Alvin Anderson, 19, was shot on a walking path in the Waterside community in Frederick, Maryland, on the evening of September 6, 2020, and died the next day at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. The medical examiner determined the cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the head. Jaemari had recently graduated from Walkersville High School and played football for the Frederick Steelers and basketball at the local Boys and Girls Club; he was remembered as caring and a leader.
Investigators say a verbal dispute began at Jordan Hooks’ residence earlier that day and later continued on the walking path. Reports indicate Jaemari was preparing for a physical fight, turned to hand his eyeglasses to Daniel Alonzo Flythe, and was shot at close range. Authorities identified three suspects: Jordan Hooks, Brian Braheem Henry, and Daniel Alonzo Flythe. Hooks was arrested September 11, 2020, Henry on December 15, 2020, and Flythe in Philadelphia on April 6, 2021; all three were charged with crimes including first-degree murder.
If anyone knew Jaemari, saw him that weekend, or has information about what happened on the walking path, please come forward.
