Christopher MarkQuell Smith was 22 when he was shot and killed on Saturday, May 30, 2020, in the 600 block of Edgewood Road in Edgewood, Maryland. Deputies arrived about 12:25 p.m. and found Smith outside a residence with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was treated by deputies and the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, then taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he died.

Investigators from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division developed two local suspects: 22-year-old Diantae Williams and 20-year-old Shamel Ferebee. Warrants charging both with first- and second-degree murder and related offenses were issued June 11, 2020. Both men were later captured out of state — Ferebee during a traffic stop in Greenville, North Carolina, on July 1, 2020, and Williams by the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force in Newport, Rhode Island, on July 7, 2020 — and were held pending extradition to Maryland.

Does anyone have information about Smith’s activities in Edgewood around late May 2020 or about the events that led to this shooting?
