Stanley Gaskins Jr., 52, was shot and killed in the early morning hours of February 22, 2020, in Clinton, Maryland. Police were called to the 7400 block of Old Alexandria Ferry Road at about 1:05 a.m. and found Gaskins and another man outside with gunshot wounds. Gaskins, a Washington, D.C. resident, was pronounced dead at the scene; the other victim survived after being taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Prince George’s County homicide detectives investigated for several months and identified 52-year-old Gerald Edwards of Washington, D.C., as the suspected shooter. In October 2020 Edwards was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree murder and other related counts; authorities reported he confessed, saying the shooting arose from an argument.
If anyone witnessed the shooting or has information about events that led up to the argument, please share what you know.
