On the evening of January 24, 2020, 42-year-old Olan Carlos Mark was shot near the intersection of West All Saints Street and South Bentz Street in Frederick, Maryland. Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots and, when officers arrived, Mark was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to a local hospital but died from his injuries.

Witnesses told investigators they saw two males fleeing eastbound from the scene immediately after the shooting. Detectives described the killing as possibly arising from a dispute rather than a random act. The Frederick Police Department searched the area for evidence and asked residents to check security camera footage for anything that might help identify the suspects.
