Curtis Mark Jones Jr., 28, was shot and killed inside a liquor store on Central Avenue in Seat Pleasant, Maryland, on December 3, 2019. The shooting occurred around 4:45 p.m. after an argument with another man; a single gunshot struck Jones and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses at the store identified the man who had been arguing with Jones, and police named 22-year-old Nevonia Evans of Northeast Washington, D.C., as the suspect. Evans was located and taken into custody in D.C. the day after the shooting and was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and related counts; he was held awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County. The specific nature of the dispute that led to the shooting has not been released.
Does anyone have information about what led to the confrontation at the liquor store or witnessed events that afternoon?
