Tray Dawkins, 18, was killed in a shooting on the evening of April 16, 2019, in the 18700 block of Curry Powder Lane in Germantown, Maryland. A former Northwest High School student and athlete who ran track and played football, Dawkins was remembered by his family as a young man who brightened a room.
Shortly after 9:00 p.m. multiple callers reported shots fired in a parking lot. Police found two wounded males at the scene and learned two other adult victims, including Dawkins, had left in a private vehicle to get to a hospital. The other adult had non-life-threatening injuries; Dawkins later died. Investigators say an unknown suspect opened fire on the group and fled, and they do not believe the attack was random, suggesting a possible gang connection. No arrests have been announced and the case remains unsolved; rewards have been offered for information leading to an arrest.
Did anyone in Germantown that night see something that could help investigators or have information about Tray’s death?
