Christopher Turner was 27 and a father of two, with a third child expected, when he was last heard from by family on Sunday, January 20, 2019. He was described as someone who stayed in daily contact with relatives, and a missing person report was filed with the Hagerstown Police Department on January 23 after he didn’t check in.
Turner’s car was found January 24 in the west end of Hagerstown; family members said the vehicle appeared unusually clean and the tags were missing. His body was recovered January 30 in a remote area of Berkeley County, West Virginia, and the condition of the body prompted investigators to suspect homicide. An autopsy was ordered.
Investigators later identified three suspects. On February 17, 2019, arrests were made: Antonio Cane Arana, 19, of Jefferson, Maryland; Dakota Daniel Paugh, 19, of Hagerstown; and Erica Shatiena Earl, 21, of Hagerstown. All three were charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, armed robbery, robbery, and multiple firearm violations. The investigation was reported to be ongoing.
If anyone knew Christopher, his movements in Hagerstown that week, or has information about the car’s discovery, please come forward.
