On the evening of June 6, 2018, 29-year-old Shawn Goslee Johnson of Fruitland, Maryland, was shot multiple times and found in the backyard of a home on the 600 block of Priscilla Street in Salisbury. He was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center but died of his wounds; his body was sent to the Chief Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy.
Investigators say a group of men had gathered in a field in Doverdale Park, adjacent to Priscilla Street, and a fight broke out. Multiple gunshots were fired and several men were seen fleeing the scene in vehicles. Authorities identified Johnathon Jamie Megee, 26 at the time, as a suspect; prosecutors presented cellphone records, ballistics, witness testimony from teenagers near the park, and a white t-shirt recovered at the scene with a stain that matched Megee’s DNA.
Johnathon James Megee was convicted on second-degree murder, manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment and multiple firearms offenses and received a prison sentence that includes thirty years for second-degree murder. If anyone knew Shawn, was in Doverdale Park that evening, or has information about what happened, please share what is known.
