On the evening of December 28, 2017, 27-year-old Armani Nico Coles, a D.C. Schools custodian and father, was found with multiple gunshot wounds lying in the roadway at the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Eastern Avenue in Capitol Heights, Maryland. Authorities say he had been shot, pushed from a moving vehicle, and later died at a nearby hospital.
Investigators tied Coles’ killing to a revenge plot linked to an earlier shooting that day. Friends of a man named Ronzay Green believed Coles and others could lead them to Green’s alleged killers.
Evidence cited in the case includes fingerprints on an item pushed from the car with Coles’ body, ballistics connecting the same firearms to both killings, and surveillance of one suspect driving Coles’ stolen car. Did anyone in the area see activity around Kenilworth Avenue or Interstate 295 that night?
