DeSean Que McNair was 19 when he was fatally shot in a hallway of the Garden Plaza Hotel in Hagerstown, Maryland, on September 16, 2017. The shooting left his family and community grieving and launched a homicide investigation.
Authorities later identified 42-year-old Raymond Trotman as a suspect. Trotman remained wanted for more than a year before Hagerstown Police located him in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, in November 2018. A traffic stop turned into a multi-jurisdictional chase back into Maryland that ended when Trotman crashed in Maugansville. Officers found a 3-year-old child in the vehicle; the child was unharmed. Trotman was taken into custody and charged in connection with McNair’s death, including first- and second-degree murder, assault and firearms-related offenses, plus charges stemming from the pursuit.
Are there details about McNair’s last hours or witnesses at the hotel that anyone can share?
