Steven Scott Campbell, 36, was found dead at his Randallstown, Maryland, home on April 3, 2017. First responders arriving for a reported cardiac arrest discovered Campbell and his girlfriend, Chinika Shari Hursey, also 36, both with upper-body trauma. Their deaths were ruled a double homicide and investigators believe the couple were fatally shot in a bedroom of the Bald Eagle Court residence they shared.

The investigation focused on Chinika Hursey’s estranged husband, Dominick Daniel Hursey. In the weeks before the killings Chinika had obtained a protective order and said she feared for her life; the order included a requirement that he surrender firearms, but none were found at the time the order was served a week before the murders. The scene appeared staged to look like a robbery, with drawers pulled out and contents scattered, though nothing of value was taken.

Dominick Daniel Hursey was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and held without bail. In March 2018 a Baltimore County jury found Dominick Hursey guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and two gun-related charges; he faced a possible sentence of life without parole. Did anyone in Randallstown know the couple well enough to share details about the days before April 3, 2017?
