Khalil Wiggins, 44, known in the music community as Big Lyl, was shot and killed at his Capitol Heights home on Byers Street on the evening of December 29, 2016. Prince George’s County officers responded about 8:40 p.m.; Wiggins was found with gunshot wounds, taken to a hospital, and later died. Others were in the house that night and were interviewed by investigators.
In mid-January 2017, police announced arrests in the case: 22-year-old Michael Stevenson III, 22-year-old Quran Middleton-Bey, 23-year-old Kierra Williams, and 23-year-old Damond Foster were charged with first- and second-degree murder. Investigators said the preliminary motive appeared to be robbery and reported that the four had admitted involvement following arrest; they were held in the Department of Corrections on no-bond status.
