On a Sunday evening in October 2016, 18-year-old Sardor Fayziev of Reisterstown, Maryland, was fatally shot while sitting in the driver’s seat of a car on Caraway Road. Fayziev and two others had been approached by two men who opened the rear doors and began assaulting a passenger in the back seat. A single gunshot struck Fayziev in the upper body during the altercation; he was taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and died the next day.
Baltimore County Police treated the case as a targeted attack. Within a day detectives identified and arrested 20-year-old Brayhant Leonel Sosa-Gonzalez of Reisterstown and charged him with first-degree murder and first-degree assault; he was held without bail. Investigators continued seeking the two other people who allegedly assaulted the passenger and fled in a vehicle driven by a third person.
Anyone with information about who else was involved or the shooting itself is asked to come forward.
