On the evening of Wednesday, May 4, 2016, 20-year-old Darryl Allen Hairston II was shot inside America’s Best Wings on Temple Hill Road in Camp Springs, Maryland after going to buy food. Police were called just after 9:45 p.m.; Hairston was found with a gunshot wound, taken to a local hospital, and pronounced dead on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Investigators determined another customer had shot him following a confrontation.
Hairston was a Suitland High School graduate who hoped to work as a mechanic and was remembered by his family as kind and quiet; he enjoyed basketball and video games. A suspect was identified and arrested in connection with the fatal shooting, and later found guilty and sentenced in 2017. If anyone knew Darryl, was at the restaurant that night, or has information about what happened, please share what you remember.
