On the late morning of August 3, 2015, 21-year-old Dommeir D. Deshields was shot multiple times at close range while walking near the intersection of Anne and Baker streets in Salisbury, Maryland. He was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery but died later that day.
Maryland State Police led the investigation and identified 22-year-old Delonte A. Bryant of Salisbury as a suspect. A Wicomico County grand jury indicted Bryant in October 2015 on charges that included first and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and firearm offenses. Bryant was already in custody on other charges when indicted.
A Wicomico County Circuit Court jury convicted Bryant of first-degree murder in August 2018 and sentenced him to life, but the verdict was vacated on appeal and a new trial ordered. The retrial resulted in another first-degree murder conviction in June 2023; Bryant was sentenced again to life on October 30, 2023.
Did anyone in the Salisbury area see or hear anything near Anne and Baker streets that morning?
