Radames Guzman, a 40-year-old Hispanic man from Magnolia, Delaware, was reported missing by his family on August 5, 2014, after last being seen on August 2. On August 24, 2014, his decomposed remains were found in a shallow grave in a wooded area of East New Market, Maryland. An autopsy found he had been shot three times in the head and his wrists were bound with tape, and the discovery prompted a homicide investigation led by the Maryland State Police with assistance from Dorchester County and Delaware State police.

Investigators learned Guzman had acted as a police informant in Delaware narcotics cases; prosecutors said he was killed either in retaliation for providing information or to prevent testimony. Evidence at trial implicated Deshaune Darling of Salisbury, Maryland, in Guzman’s abduction and murder. In September 2015 a Dorchester County jury convicted Darling of first-degree murder, kidnapping and related charges; in December 2015 he received two consecutive life terms plus 50 years. An appeal challenging admission of certain trial evidence was rejected by the Maryland Court of Special Appeals in April 2017.

If anyone knew Guzman, his movements in early August 2014, or has information about the case, please share what is known.
