On April 17, 2011, a house party on Glenshire Drive in Glenn Dale, Maryland, turned deadly when 23-year-old Oluseun Fashina was shot around 4:14 a.m. Neighbors described the residence as one where loud, late-night parties with live DJs sometimes occurred. The dispute that preceded the shooting reportedly began over spilled drinks and escalated into a physical altercation involving Fashina and three other men.
Fashina, a Bowie resident and student at the University of Maryland University College, was found with trauma to his body and died after being taken to a local hospital. Prince George’s County police identified three suspects and arrested Alusine Kanu, 22, of Alexandria; Ransford Caulker, 25, of Bowie; and Tanseh John Nicholas, 25, of Herndon. All three were charged with first-degree murder and held without bond.
In December 2011, Alusine Kanu was convicted of second-degree murder; testimony stated Kanu shot Fashina in the back after the fight at the party. Anyone who knew Oluseun or was at the Glenshire Drive party that night and can help the discussion is asked to share what they know.
