On a January Tuesday in the winter of 2011, 30-year-old Clyde Antwone Rosevelt Howard was found dead in front of a home on the 7400-block of Riverdale Road in New Carrollton, Maryland. He had a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene after police responded to a break-in call.

Investigators say Howard lived a few blocks away and had shattered a window on the front door and was in the process of entering the house when one of the occupants shot him. Prince George’s County Major Andy Ellis described the shooting as appearing to be an act of self-defense by the resident. The killing was recorded as the county’s 12th homicide that year.

Are there witnesses or neighbors who remember that January night or can add details about what happened?
