William Henry Gwaltney, 32, was shot and killed in Temple Hills, Maryland, on July 28, 2010. His family held a funeral service on August 6, 2010, at Dupont Park Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Washington, D.C., and he was buried at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Maryland.

William was the son of Ruby Y. Cooper and brother to Katina Parker, Vicki Croaker, Darlene Ricks, Loretta Diggs, Biko Gwaltney and Jamar Gwaltney. There are no publicly reported details about suspects, arrests, or the outcome of the investigation.
