Guillermo Alvarado Santos, a 40-year-old Hispanic man, was killed on the evening of October 24, 2007, during what police described as an attempted robbery in the Chillum/Adelphi area of Prince George’s County, Maryland. Just after 6:00 p.m. he was inside a green Honda Accord on the 800 block of Berkshire Drive when two assailants approached and opened fire at close range. Santos was mortally wounded and taken to a hospital, where he died; another man in the car was injured but reported to have non-life-threatening wounds.
Santos was later identified as having a Washington, D.C. address. Reports link the attack to a robbery attempt and describe two attackers, but do not provide public identifications, detailed descriptions, arrests, charges, or convictions. The shooting took place near the D.C. border on a corridor used daily by commuters and residents, leaving many questions about motive and the shooters’ identities.
If anyone knew Guillermo, his routines, or saw activity on Berkshire Drive that evening, please come forward with information.
