Courtney Lawrence Manning Jr. was 16 when he was shot and killed while driving his mother’s green Cadillac CTS in Clinton, Maryland, on the night of February 11, 2007. He was returning friends from a birthday party at the Neon teenage nightclub and was stopped at a traffic light on Woodyard Road when a dark-colored car with tinted windows, possibly a Honda Accord, pulled up alongside. An occupant opened fire, striking Courtney twice in the head; the shooter’s vehicle fled the scene.
Courtney was taken for medical treatment but died from his injuries. His mother, LaShonne Williams, has spoken publicly about her grief and remembers their last brief phone call that ended with a promise to talk later. The murder remains unsolved; no arrests have been announced, and investigators and his family continue to ask the public for tips. A reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
If anyone knew Courtney, was at the Neon that night, or has information about the dark-colored car or its occupants, please come forward.
