Catherine Holmes, a 59-year-old Black woman, was found dead in a well on the property where she lived in Shreveport, Louisiana, on the evening of March 30, 2017. Deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office had been called that afternoon to mediate a civil dispute between Holmes and her brother, Patrick Holmes; she was last seen alive about 4:25 p.m. and was discovered during a welfare check at about 10:25 p.m.
Investigators ultimately classified her death as a homicide. No suspects have been publicly named and no arrests have been announced. The dispute with her brother that same day is part of the known timeline, but the investigation remains unresolved.
If anyone knew Catherine, saw her that afternoon, or has information about the events on Dixie-Blanchard Road that day, please come forward.
