Treavine Tate was 21 and a young father when he was shot and killed on May 30, 2022, on Hulett Street in Schenectady, New York. What began as an argument between Tate and another man, later identified as 23-year-old Anthony Romero, turned deadly. Tate, who was unarmed, was shot multiple times; friends took him to Ellis Hospital, where he died.
Surveillance video from the scene reportedly shows the argument, Romero drawing a pistol and pursuing Tate into the street, firing multiple shots, including after Tate fell to the ground. Romero fled the area after the shooting and was at large for several months before being located by U.S. Marshals in Albany.
Does anyone have information about Tate’s life in Schenectady or recollections of that night that could shed more light on what happened?
