On May 7, 2021, 26-year-old Lemeke Pittman was shot multiple times in the chest and abdomen while at a barbershop on the corner of Seymour Avenue and James Street in Utica, New York. First responders and hospital staff attempted life-saving measures, but Pittman died of his wounds.
Investigators identified three suspects and made arrests: 21-year-old Jaleak Scarborough; 19-year-old Hakim Muhammad, arrested in Georgia; and 31-year-old Christian Rodriguez, taken into custody at a residence in Queens after law enforcement forced entry. An Oneida County Grand Jury indicted all three men in connection with Pittman’s murder. In April 2022 an Oneida County jury found Scarborough and Muhammad guilty of second-degree murder; both faced the possibility of life in prison, with Scarborough scheduled for sentencing on May 23, 2022, and Muhammad on May 24, 2022.
Are there witnesses or anyone who knew Lemeke who can share information about that afternoon at the barbershop?
