In the pre-dawn hours of April 16, 2020, gunfire was reported in Amityville, New York. Officers found 25-year-old Black male Romario Williams on Park Avenue with a gunshot wound; he was treated by the Amityville Fire Department, taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, and pronounced dead. The Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad determined the shooting occurred at an Amityville residence and opened a homicide investigation.

Detectives have been asking the public for tips to identify whoever shot Williams. If anyone has information about Romario Williams, his movements that morning, or the Amityville residence where the shooting occurred, please contact the investigators handling the case.
