Noe Hamer, 42, was shot and killed on February 6, 2020, in the parking lot of T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Haverstraw, New York. A funeral director and the funeral home’s General Manager, Hamer was shot multiple times as he arrived in his car. The attack was carried out by a recently terminated employee, Gerard F. O’Sullivan, 60, who had been fired earlier that day and waited in the parking lot.
A witness attempted to intervene and fired a licensed handgun, striking O’Sullivan in the shoulder. When police arrived they found O’Sullivan armed; he refused commands to drop the weapon and was subdued with a Taser before being taken into custody. Hamer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Was anyone in Haverstraw connected to the funeral home that day who can add details about the timeline or the witness who intervened?
