On May 28, 2019, 27-year-old Nicholas Talerico and his 57-year-old aunt, Patricia Anne Talerico, were shot and killed inside a home on Maynard Drive in Deerfield, New York. The homeowner, 64-year-old Ronald Stolarczyk, told police he interrupted a burglary, shouted for the pair to leave, and then fired a handgun; both victims were found dead at the scene. Authorities say Nicholas had burglarized the same residence several weeks earlier, and a search of his apartment turned up property believed to have been taken from Stolarczyk’s home during that prior break-in.

Stolarczyk was taken into custody and charged, including for illegal possession of a handgun. His attorney said he acted in fear for his life while in his kitchen. The girlfriend of Nicholas later told police she drove him and his aunt to the house and cooperated with investigators. What relevant details might someone with information about the prior burglaries or the May 28 events be able to add?
