Shaun Chadwick was 47 when he was shot multiple times and left to die in Monticello, New York, on a September evening in 2017. After the shooting near Holmes Street and Wood Avenue, Chadwick ran to the parking lot of the It’s a Wash laundromat on Forestburgh Road, where he collapsed and was pronounced dead on September 30, 2017.
Monticello Police, the New York State Police and the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office investigated for nearly two years. In June 2020 authorities arrested 22-year-old Naheem Liles of Mount Vernon, alleging he and another person shot Chadwick, possibly in a drug-related incident. Liles was charged with second-degree murder under a felony-murder theory and criminal possession of a weapon, indicted by a grand jury, arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail. The investigation was reported as ongoing.
Does anyone have information about Chadwick’s last movements that night or about activity near Holmes Street and Wood Avenue?
