Nineteen-year-old Elias Flores was brought to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers on August 10, 2016, with a gunshot wound. The person who dropped him off left before details could be clarified. Flores was pronounced dead within an hour; an autopsy found a single bullet entered his arm and pierced his chest. He was a resident of Yonkers and investigators traced the shooting to the Nodine Hill section of the city.

Yonkers Police identified Sheppard Adeghe as responsible for Flores’s death. Two days after the shooting Adeghe obtained an emergency passport and flew to Amsterdam, then to Edinburgh, Scotland. He was located there after a tip and arrested on September 1, 2016, and later brought back to the United States. Initially charged with second-degree murder, Adeghe pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and in October 2018 was sentenced to 20 years in state prison for the killing of Elias Flores.

If anyone knew Elias, saw him in Yonkers in August 2016, or has information about the shooting, please share what is known.
