On June 23, 2016 in Elmira, New York, a dispute over a missing Xbox between 44-year-old Tiko Head and Akeem Williams ended with Head being shot once. After being struck, Head stumbled out of the residence and called for help before collapsing; he was taken to a local medical center and later died. The death was ruled a homicide.
Elmira police identified Akeem Williams as the suspect, recovered a revolver, and charged him with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Initial DNA testing on the gun was inconclusive, but a computer TrueAllele analysis later linked Williams to the weapon. After a hung jury at a first trial in August 2017, Williams was retried in October 2017; on November 2, 2017 a jury found him guilty of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, and he was sentenced to 25 years to life.
If anyone knew Tiko Head or has information about the events that night, please share what is known.
