On the evening of October 12, 2015, a 911 call brought Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies to 177 Cohen and Cohen Road in the Swan Lake area of Bethel, New York. Officers found 34-year-old Michael Northcote deceased inside his home; an autopsy later ruled his death a homicide from gunfire. Authorities said the shooting did not appear to be random and encouraged residents to stay vigilant.
The investigation involved the New York State Police, the FBI Safe Streets Taskforce, and the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office. Several months later, in February 2016, four people were arrested and charged with murder and robbery in connection with Northcote’s killing: 47-year-old Deanna Duncan of Liberty, 26-year-old Jeffery Herring of South Fallsburg, 44-year-old William Lewis of Monticello, and 25-year-old Mark Mack of Monticello. All were remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail after arraignment.
Did anyone in the Bethel or Swan Lake area have contact with Michael Northcote in the days before October 12, 2015?
