Andre Lamar Oliver-Kenney was 23 when he was fatally shot outside Two J’s Bar in Utica, New York, on the night of January 18, 2014. He was born July 6, 1990, in Brooklyn, and was a father to two sons, Andre Jr. and Adrian. Oliver-Kenney grew up in Utica’s public schools and was part of a large family that included a twin brother.
Investigators worked the case for two years. In February 2016 authorities announced arrests: 32-year-old Jonathan Brown was charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, and 29-year-old Kent Burgess was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon. One defendant was arrested in the Bronx by the U.S. Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force after an Oneida County grand jury indictment; Burgess was already incarcerated at Attica on an unrelated drug charge at the time of the announcement.
Does anyone have information about Andre’s life in Utica or the night of January 18, 2014?
