One victim, Michael Mike Pappadino, was killed in a Long Island altercation during May 1989 after being stabbed multiple times while trying to protect two women from an aggressive man. Police identified Quinten J. Edmonds as the primary suspect; Edmonds was known to authorities for prior violent behavior, was arrested and charged, and was reported to have taken a knife from an acquaintance’s apartment before the attack.
A separate account names a 67-year-old Michael Pappadio, murdered on Saturday, May 13, 1989. According to that narrative, he met Salvatore Avellino and Carmine Avellino, left in a blue Lincoln Town Car, and was taken to Crown Foods in Queens where Alphonse D’Arco and Georgie Zappola carried out the killing. Zappola reportedly shot him twice in the head; the body was later cremated and the ashes scattered, and D’Arco destroyed his clothing.
Are there readers who can clarify whether these accounts refer to the same man or provide additional details about either killing?
