Does anyone else find it absolutely gut-wrenching how the system failed Savanna Graziano? This young girl was caught up in a nightmarish situation she didn't choose, yet somehow she ended up paying the ultimate price. I'm particularly troubled by the deputies' actions during the shootout in Hesperia. From what I understand, there was confusion about whether she was involved in the gunfire, yet she was unarmed when she ran towards them. Even with an investigation by the California Department of Justice underway, it's a terrifying reminder of how quickly things can spiral out of control, and in this case, cost a young girl her life. My heart goes out to anyone close to Savanna and Tracy Martinez dealing with this unimaginable pain. I hope we see justice and accountability, whatever that ends up looking like.
