Armando Hernandez, 25, was shot and killed in a house on Lincoln Street in Burbank, California, on August 22, 2022. The shooting happened about 7:15 am; Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled the death a homicide from a gunshot wound to the chest. Another man was also shot and found a block away on Brighton Street; he survived and provided some information to police.

Burbank Police interviewed witnesses and reviewed security footage, identifying two people who fled before officers arrived. Detectives located and interviewed those individuals and recovered the firearm believed to have been used. No arrests were immediately made; later developments led the department to conclude the active investigation after the suspected shooter, 21-year-old Joellah McComb, died of causes unrelated to the incident. The department remains open to new information.
