Vincent Williams was 25 and Black when he was killed in the early hours of August 9, 2014, by gunfire that tore through a gold Toyota stopped along Interstate 10 in New Orleans East. Authorities found two men shot to death inside the car in the left service lane near the Crowder Boulevard exit; the second victim was identified as Juan Rodgers. Eastbound lanes were shut as detectives worked the scene and traffic was diverted, underscoring how an interstate corridor became the site of a daylight-style ambush in darkness.
Police described the incident as an active investigation and urged anyone with information to come forward. Public updates tied to this case did not name a suspect or announce an arrest; the confirmed facts are the time, place, vehicle, the shooting, and two lives ended in the front seats of that Toyota. If anyone has information about what happened on I-10 that morning, please share it with investigators.
