Hi everyone, I just can't stop thinking about the little library they dedicated for Yesli and Angel. It's such a beautiful and tangible way to honor their lives and keep their memory alive. As someone who loves reading, I find it incredibly moving that a place of learning and community now stands in their name. It must be so comforting for those who knew Yesli as a passionate classroom aide and for Angel’s classmates to have a special spot that reflects their legacy. It's an important reminder of the role community can play in healing after such a horrendous event. While it's never going to fill the void left behind, I hope it provides a place of solace and connection for those who visit and contribute to it. Books can be a refuge, and in a way, it carries Yesli and Angel's spirit forward—sharing kindness, education, and a love for learning with others. Has anyone visited the library or seen other similar memorials in different cases? It’s meaningful to see how communities pull together and respond with love and support, even in the darkest times. Stay strong, everyone ❤️

I've been following this case closely, and my heart goes out to the families of Yesli and Angel Velazquez. I've been thinking a lot about the impact this tragedy has had on Angel’s schoolmates and community. I read that the Baldwin Park Unified School District dedicated a Little Free Library to honor them, which is such a beautiful gesture. It's an incredible way to keep Angel’s spirit alive, especially since he loved reading. I just can’t imagine how hard it must be for his classmates and teachers to process this loss. It’s important for the school to offer support to the kids, maybe through counseling or activities where they can remember Angel and express what they’re going through. It’s a poignant reminder of how intertwined this tragedy is with the everyday lives of so many people, especially the young ones who might be facing these emotions for the first time. If anyone else is from the area, it’d be great to hear how the community is coping and if there are other support efforts underway.

Does anyone else find it incredibly upsetting how often these tragic cases involve children? It's so devastating to think of little Angel Velasquez, who had his whole life ahead of him. From everything I've read, he seemed like such a sweet kid, with a passion for reading that should have seen him grow up to be whoever he wanted to be. It's so hard to believe that someone who lived with him and his mom could be capable of such violence. I can't begin to imagine the pain that friends and family are going through right now. It's commendable how the Baldwin Park community has come together to remember Yesli and Angel, especially with the Little Free Library initiative. It’s small gestures like these that help keep their memory alive, but it also highlights the urgent need for more resources to combat domestic violence. No family should ever have to endure this type of pain. The bigger question now is, how do we prevent such tragedies from happening again? Praying for justice and peace for Yesli and Angel.
