Ricardo Chavana was 16 and a student at Parlier High School when he was shot multiple times through his bedroom window at his home on the 13000 block of E. Bulah Avenue in Parlier, California, on February 20, 2022. The shooting occurred around 11:00 p.m.; Ricardo was taken toward a hospital but died en route. Preliminary information indicated the shots were fired from outside the house and that Ricardo was an innocent victim; no clear motive or immediate suspects were identified at the time.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office later took over the homicide investigation from the Parlier Police Department. Investigators reported no immediate leads on a perpetrator or any associated vehicles. In May 2023 the sheriff’s office released a sketch of a person of interest based on witness descriptions, and Crime Stoppers offered a $9,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Ricardo’s family and community have been actively seeking justice and keeping his memory alive.
Does anyone have information about that night or recall seeing suspicious activity or a vehicle near E. Bulah Avenue around 11:00 p.m. on February 20, 2022?
