On January 27, 2022, a daylight shootout at a Shell gas station in Ducor, California, left 20-year-old Francisco Rodriguez dead. Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting around 3:45 p.m.; Rodriguez was found with gunshot wounds, taken to a hospital, and later died. The exchange of gunfire involved occupants of two vehicles — a red Nissan Altima and a white Chevrolet Malibu — and stemmed from a confrontation between rival gang members. Another man, Mauro Aguilar, also died and several people were wounded.
Arrests followed: Jose Palomo, 35, and a 17-year-old from Delano were arrested in connection with Rodriguez’s murder. Jaan Maciel, 21, who sustained injuries in the shootout, was arrested for the murder of Mauro Aguilar. All three were charged with homicide and held without bail as the investigation continued.
Does anyone have information about the incident or about those who were at the gas station that afternoon?
